Inspiring Organizations
In order to understand this section, it is necessary to briefly explain how citizen-ecosystem was born. Useful, valuable information is being freely shared and distributed across the internet on a daily basis, we now have access to all sorts of solutions, practices and tools, that given the right conditions, can ultimately improve the living standards of citizens around the world.
But best practices before being successfully implemented somewhere else, have to go though an effective and often complex adaptation and refinement process. Where citizen-ecosystem differentiates itself, is in the ability to empower sustainable creativity, by adapting, transforming and implementing theses ideas into concrete local action plans.
citizen-ecosystem truly admires the work of organizations like:
- worldchanging, that is constantly tracking novel ways that technology and social movements are being used to make the world a better place, from the grass roots up.
- TED, for bringing to a wider audience some of the most remarkable TED talks, delivered by today's most influential characters, from scientists, philosophers and politicians to religious leaders, environmentalists and community leaders.
- DEMOS, independent think tank, that besides producing cutting-edge public research, reaffirmed citizen-ecosystem's idea to deploy web 2.0 tools such as del.icio.us, netvibes, flickr, etc. for some of the company's business processes.
- Open Architecture Network, which is one of the best examples of how collaboration and free sharing of ideas can be used to help meet communities' needs.
- Sunlight Network, an organization that is effectively using the web to launch innovative initiatives to improve transparency and accountability.
